Picasa - What a tool!

As you can see from the examples above and below I have had great fun turning my experiences from ULearn into a collage and a video clip. Picasa is an easy tool to use to create and present recounts. You can either create an image, video and much much more.

Another plus about this programme is that your images you make can be posted straight to your blog or you can upload the video you have made to youtube. Talk about making life easy.

Have fun playing with it, it will definitely an easy tool for children to use.

  1. I used to use Picasa but moved to Flickr because I found that I could not use the photo link to load photos into Blogger or wikis. I do prefer Picasa for the classroom because it is free, could you explain how it is done?

  2. Hey Mr Wood!

Its really easy there are few options of embedding your work/photos/video/collage into a blog or wiki.
1st option - if you have blogger account
There is a button on the bottom task board that says BLOG THIS if you have a blogger (blogspot) account already established it will ask guide you through setting up a link to your blog. Once this is done Picasa will automatically place it in a new post for you.

2nd option - if you don't have a blogger account
    (For images/collage)
Picasa gives you an option of exporting your work as a JPEG, to folder on your desktop or where you chose to place it. The EXPORT icon is on the bottom task bar near the BLOG THIS icon. This option also allows you to resize or add a watermark to your image. From there you can then upload it into any blog/wiki as a normal image.
Picasa gives you the option of making a slide show of your work - ref to my ' A Great Night Out' you can then upload this to YouTube just make sure you have an account already established with YouTube. It will automatically upload it for you. Once this is done you will be able to copy the embeddable player code and paste this into your wiki or blog.

I hope I have answered your questions and if my notes don't make sense please feel free to flick me a comment back.
