L@S 2010 – Break Out 2: Geocaching Across The Curriculum
This was an interesting break out and it’s blurb did not match the session. In this session we used a GPS to locate clues but the way the presenters set up the course I believed you could use other tools eg. a compass to do this task . I came away with some ideas practical ideas and how to implement them into the classroom.
Literacy: Get children to write clues for other children to seek around the school or classroom. These can either be in the form of a riddle or as math problems. This is very much like orientation but the activity is the tool that drives the learning.
